October - 2 Birthdays and a Birth Day

I completely destroyed the rice and somehow ended up with a potfull of flavorless mush. Nick put it to good use though...... he made a birthday cake!

And whose birthday is it?! Why The Wiggles of course!!
NO idea where he pulled that one from....

The Wiggles birthday celebration morphed into reviewing Santa's naughty & nice list
(Jack fans - you'll love this!)

Speaking of Jack! I learned 2 VERY IMPORTANT lessons from this bake-off.
Lesson #1: Making 1 Jack cake is a WHOLE lot easier than 24 Jack cupcakes.
(don't mind the few mutant looking Jacks - Greg insisted on giving it a shot)

Lesson #2: You CANNOT use Fluff as icing.
The next morning before leaving for work I peaked into the fridge to admire my creation.... oh the horror!!!!
Over to the Patterson's for our tradional fall decorations. They were infatuated with this bell.

Ahhhhhahahahah! Nick's blinded! My turn!!!
Nice Adrienne, real nice.

Nick wanted his turn back and Adrienne wasn't letting that happen. So he went for the rib shot.
Oh yeah!?!? Well 2 can play at THAT game! He sideswipes me in the ribs so now I'm going to hold on even tighter.
" What animals do we give them to!?"
"For the 23rd time... the animal crackers are for YOU. NOT the animals."
Like the kid has never had animal crackers before....!?!?
Trying to get a good picture of them in the wagon - Adrienne has a faux-puss so Sharon goes in for the surprise tickle.

NOW they're happy.... what fun is it to sit in a wagon if it isn't getting pulled!?
Baking fiasco #2 of the week. Actually within 4 days... but who's counting...
While we were at the Patterson's yesterday Nick announced, "Let's make a pumpkin pie!!" Really? Because we've EVER done that before!? Not to mention he doesn't even like pumpkin pie!!! Anyway, I don't mind baking with the kids but this has pre-made pie crust and canned pumpkin filling written ALL over it.
Sunday morning we set out to make our very first pumpkin pie! SO easy! Well, when all you're doing is mixing 2 cans of goop and pouring it into a pie shell how hard can it be?!?!
Apparently pretty hard when you have a 3 year old who decided to turn the oven to broil.
Not deterred by my melted Jack faces (now marshmellow soup) or charred pumpkin pie I set out once again. Fresh whipped cream icing and Jack cupcakes to order.

With me safely out of the kitchen and back at my desk, the kids spent an afternoon at Turtleback Zoo with Mima, PopPop, Greg, Aunt Keri & Tori!
(Keri.... you let Adrienne walk around with her hair like this?!!?)
Feeding the birds was a BIG hit!

A ride on the resident stallion....
And my favorite picture from the day.... 3 little tushies!! Too cute!

20 days apart October 9 ~ October 29
Bring it on, Mama Nature! We've already survived your earthquake and hurricane. You think a little snow it going to stop us?!
While a blanket of snow fell over the North East we went to Ryan's karate party which was a blast!
Warming up.... Adrienne would run up. Stop. Hop. Kick.
Hysterical!

Nick was all over the map. I think they finally assigned one instructor just to babysit him. He had ants in his pants and could NOT wait in line - all too exciting! He was ALLOWED to kick & punch - actually ENCOURAGED!? This was the place for him....!!!

Back at home we had a visitor.... Tori's parents were off.... well, we'll get back to that in a minute. First things first! Tori wanted a picture with "CAT!".

"Cat" isn't the best at following directions. Neither are toddlers for that matter....

Tori decided he was hungry. So a bag of treats later.... Calvin was officially stuffed.

Back to Peter & Keri..... While Tori was hard at work keeping Calvin fat & happy her mom was hard at work having babies! The twins are here!!!
Katherine Linda ~ 10:39AM, 7lbs, 4ozs, 20.5" & Eleanor Gayle ~ 10:41AM, 6lbs, 14ozs, 19.5"
The most fabulous sister trio since Zsa Zsa, Magda & Eva!
